La Charanga Habanera, one of Cuba’s most popular timba band will be in Europe from November 19 to December 12 to perform in different cities of Italy, France and Switzerland.
Lead by music director and maestro David Calzado, La Charanga Habanera has set the style for contemporary Cuban popular music for over 15 years with 10 albums and countless hit songs that reflect the lives of young Cubans.
Combining charisma, a spectacular stage show and ferocious musicianship, the 17 piece orchestra have become famous all over the world as one of the best live acts out of Cuba.
La Charanga Habanera has remained at the highest levels of popularity in Cuba ever since the director, David Calzado decided to introduce some changes in the way of making dance music 15 years ago. The band have won numerous awards, including the 2004 and 2005 Egrem Award (Cuban equivalent of Grammy). They were also nominated to the Latin Grammy in 2003 for Best Contemporary Tropical Album.
Charanga Habanera will be in Europe from November 19 to December 12 to perform in different cities of Italy, France and Switzerland.
La Charanga Habanera were recently the subject of a feature length documentary POPULAR by American filmmaker Jennifer Paz. The film was screened on the international festival circuit and is currently widely distributed.
Marseille will be playing in Paris on 29th November at 9:30 pm
