‘Asi soy‘ will be another impressive effort from Issac Delgado, who emigrated from Cuba to the U.S. in January 2007.

A totally infectious new salsa-timba release from the brilliant Cuban vocalist Issac Delgado, who is now officially living in the states. Inventive vocalist Issac Delgado is one of Cuba’s most famous and beloved modern salsa musicians of his generation. His unique style combines elements of Afro-Caribbean rhythms with pop and jazz. Most recently his music has evolved to included experiments with electronic and avant-garde elements.

“El Chevere de la Salsa” launched his professional career with the Latin band “Proyecto” and shortly after, he joined the bands “Orquestra de Pacho Alonso” and “Galaxia Group”. In 1988, he became the lead vocalist in the Cuban dance group “NG La Banda,” creating a contemporary sound out of the fusion of traditional influences and modern-day popular rhythms. “NG La Banda” was awarded the EGREM 1990 -1991 Prize for being the band with the most technically developed level of music.

In 1991, Delgado established “Issac Delgado y Su Grupo.” Their first album, “Dando la Hora,” received the EGREM 1992 Prize for “Best Album Recorded in a Foreign Country.” His follow-up album “Con Ganas” was honored with two EGREM 1993 Awards for “Best Dance Music Album” and the “Critic’s Award.” In 1994 Issac recorded “El Año Que Viene” and shortly thereafter recorded his fourth album in New York, “Otra Idea,” blending both the vibe of New York and Cuban salsa.

In 1998 “Mi Primera Noche” debuted and was considered to be one of Delgado’s most unusual and ambitious projects. His popularity and success as a recording artist continued to grow thought the years which lead to the release of his greatest hits album “Los Grandes Exitos de Isaac Delgado” in 2000.

On January 2007 Issacc Delgado emigrated from Cuba to the U.S. via Mexico prior to the award wining album ‘En Primera Plana’. This CD was also nominated for a Grammy award in 2007 for Best Tropical Latin Album.
