This may not be timba but need to be mention, UK premiere of one of the greatest Latin bands of all – the Big 3 Palladium Orchestra, to coincide with a major BBC Four TV series exploring the incredible story of Latin Music in the USA.

Embodying the spirit of the original Mambo Kings and performing the music of the three legendary bandleaders and composers – Machito, Tito Rodriguez and Tito Puente – who set light to the dance floor of New York’s Palladium Ballroom throughout the 1950s. The UK line-up features original band members – and is fronted by Machito Jr (son of the original bandleader, Machito AKA Frank Grillo) and Tito Rodriguez Jr (son of the legendary singer).

Joining this scorching ensemble will be the guest soloists, legendary Fania pianist and producer Larry Harlow, trombonist Jimmy Bosch and other artists still to be announced.

Don’t miss this sizzling journey from the magical Mambo era of the 1940s & 1950s, through the Cha Cha Cha craze to the evolution of the Fania All-Stars’ Salsa groove.
