If you live in UK and haven’t heard of DJ Rich who currently spin his records at Havana Central then you must have been living on Mars for the last 10 years.

He is a fanatic for his beautiful Latin music knowledge, Rich has been dropping the good stuff in and around London town since 2000. Kicking off with a 2-year residency at Bar Cuba in High Street Kensington, his mash-up Latino mix had them happy as Larry, sweating it out on the dance floor. Since then Rich has served up slices of salsa, sweet and hot, at some of London’s temples of salsa devotion – Salsa Fusion, Floridita, El Grande, Latin Palace and The Buffalo Bar, to name a few; as well as tearing up weekenders, such as Go Salsa in the Isle of Wight, Afro Cuban Pati in Crawley and Salsa Cubana in Blackpool. He’s also thrilled the people supporting Cuban artists Los Van van at the Roundhouse, Azucar Negra at the Conga Club and George Peguero at the Scala.

Rich takes his music seriously – trawling the globe, he’s forever landing the latest catch of choice tunes to unleash on the dance floor and shake down the very molecules of the dancers themselves. While all things Latin suit his palate, his one true, overriding love is for the wild montunos, funky bass lines and shouted coros of Timba and Cuban Salsa. And that’s exactly what’s on the menu at his popular weekly club, Downtown London’s very own exclusively dedicated Cuban night: Havana Central. You can also currently catch Rich spinning sets at El Grande in Vauxhall and Salsa Viva Cuban Nights in Norwich etc. Plus, this year he’ll be spinning slices of Cuban magic at the Cuban Salsa Congress in Bournemouth and Afro Cuban Pati’s Salsa Fiesta.
